Costco: green light from the Administrative Appeal Court !

On November 26th, the Administrative Appeal Court of Versailles has validated the CNAC’s decision of May 2014, which approved the opening authorization for Costco’s first French store at Villebon-sur-Yvette (91).

Auchan, Cora, the retailers association of the hypermarket Carrefour in la Ville-du-Bois and the Syndicate of the co-owners of hypermarket Cora in Massy were the applicants before the Court. They have finally been dismissed, some for inadmissibility, the others on the merits.

The opening of the 12,000 sqm Costco at Villebon-sur-Yvette was initially planned for 2016 or beg.-2017. The American retailer has 700 warehouse-clubs worldwide; 10 to 15 are expected in France the next 10 years, including 4 to 6 in the Paris area.
