After more than 10 hours of debate, the French Senate approved the text of the law concerning trades, commerce and very small businesses..
70 amendments were adopted, out of the 209 initially proposed.
Articles 20 to 24 on the simplification of commercial development planning were adopted. These articles concern in particular the right of the French national commission for commercial development (CNAC) to intervene on its own initiative (proprio motu) in cases of planning permission for extensions to existing commercial premises, and no longer solely in the case of new premises.
